Barry Bonds sentenced to house arrest—in his mansion

 San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds was sentenced today. Not too many people are feeling sorry for him.

Former  San Francisco Giants superstar slugger Barry Bonds was sentenced today, to 30 days of house arrest (at his Beverly Hills mansion) two years of probation, 250 hours of community service and—oh yes—a $4,100 fine.

All this for “obstructing justice during a federal investigation into his alleged use of steroids,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

As it often does, the Twitteratti erupted with reaction. Everyone thought the sentence was fair. Not. Of course, Twitterers were filled with ridicule. Even reporters took up the battle cry.

Many said the sentence was way too light. Others derided government officials for pouring so much money into the case.
