LeBron James on Friday used a question about voting in the All-Star Game to strike a curious parallel: President Trump

The criteria for selecting the NBA‘s All-Star starters changed last year: Lineups are settled by 50 percent fan vote, 25 percent media members, and 25 percent players. Apparently 128 of his colleagues didn’t vote for James, the modern era’s most dominant alpha dog. 

“There’s always goofy votes. Donald Trump is our president,” he said, via Cavs beat writer Dave McMenamin.

“I vote for who I thought deserved [it],” he said, referring to his personal NBA ballot.

The NBA’s best and brightest meet in New Orleans for the All-Star Game on Feb. 19 at 8pm ET.
