The line to pick up or drop off your kids at school can be long and boring, but bringing a book is probably better than lighting up a joint.

St. John’s Primary School, in Radcliffe, U.K., had to request that parents and guardians stop smoking pot in their cars before and after classes.

Dear Parents/carers,

We have had concerning reports that parents have been using cannabis around the school premises as they drop off and collect their children.

This has been reported by parents and has been noticed by some of the older children.

This is a serious safeguarding concern and if further complaints are brought to our attention, we will notify the relevant authorities. We have informed the community police service and they are likely to be keeping a close eye on the situation.

Please respect our school as a place of learning and make sure you set an appropriate example within the community.

Mrs D Binns (deputy head teacher)

This seems like a no-brainer, but not everyone agreed with the school’s policy. A few people took to “Spotted: Radcliffe” a Facebook page where people can post about the community and voice their opinions.

Sure, some of them agreed with the school…

But one man from Australia seemed to side with the parents.

For that matter, if the history of the Facebook page is any indication, Radcliffers might see smoking as an essential part of their culture.

Sounds like a tough place to grow up.
