Whales can be just as chill as any ocean-dwelling paddle boarder, especially if video of them is set to a cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”
Need proof?
As Discovery.com writes, this scene occurred when a man named Dave Price was paddling off the Australian coast and he was approached by a couple of Southern Right whales.
Local man, Jaimen Hudson, heard about the whales, and so, he launched his camera-toting drone to film the scene. It just so happened that Price —who luckily didn’t have to endure the whales deciding to breach the surface while trying to land on him—was there at the same time, And the whales apparently were just content to chill and hang with the human stranger.
Said Hudson, via ABC Esperance, “There was one time when the whales lifted their heads up, looked up over Pricey’s board, they were so inquisitive and wanted to know what he was. I don’t think it was dangerous—the whales moved to where he was and the whole time they were very slow-moving and peaceful.”
Lennon would have appreciated that.
