It looks like at least one Batman wannabe has found an arch-nemesis in the form of an ex-significant other. Not only did she demand the return of car she gave her allegedly cheating boyfriend, she staged a public humiliation by having the car repossessed, then listing it for sale on Craigslist.
“I knew this was the way I could hurt him back where it counted,” Amy Estrada of Livonia, Michigan told Fox 2 in Detroit. Yes, it sounds like it.
As Estrada tells the story, she bought her boyfriend a 2007 Dodge Nitro. But recently, she discovered that he had been cheating on her with a woman who paid to trick out the vehicle like it was the Batmobile, complete with Batman decals and logos, as well as a Bluetooth system.
It apparently cost $5,000 to upgrade the Nitro to make it look like something Batman would drive if he needed a mid-sized SUV to, I don’t know, hit up Trader Joe’s after foiling the Riddler or something.
Anyway, Estrada had only one solution. Since the car was in her name, she took it back and posted this cheater-shaming sign on it.
Then she put the geeked-out ride on Craigslist. Originally, the price tag was $18,000, but since then, Estrada has dropped the price by $3,000.
Said Estrada: “I outsmarted the con-artist.” Or a terrible facsimile of Batman, whichever.
