On Monday one of the founding members of the iconic rock band the Eagles, Glenn Frey, was reported dead at age 67.
Co-writer of hits such as “Hotel California” and “Desperado,” Frey also sang lead vocals on “Take it Easy,” “Tequila Sunrise,” and “Lyin Eyes.”

After the Eagles broke up in 1980, Frey continued on as a solo artist, creating songs such as “The Heat is On,” which was famously included on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and six-time Grammy winner reunited with the Eagles in 1994 for their “Hell Freezes Over” tour, and in 2012, he released his final solo effort, After Hours.
Frey had been fighting intestinal issues for months, and underwent surgery back in November to fix his health problems. But things took a turn for the worse right before the holidays.
Slated to appear for the Kennedy Center Honors in December, Frey’s ailing health caused the Eagles to back out. His bandmates said Frey required additional surgery that would keep their guitarist on the sidelines for a while to fully recover, but unfortunately, Frey would not bounce back.
