Despite feeling under the weather, my temperature was normal during CES this week. At least, that’s what Withings’s new thermometer told me.
The company launched an app connected thermometer that can keep track of the whole family’s temperature. Called Thermo, the thermometer uses 16 sensors to get 4,000 body temperature measurements in two seconds. Each temperature reading can be assigned to a profile established in the app, and you can keep track of the history of measurements, what if any medicine was given, and attach a note to the measurement.
It’s easy to take your temperature with Thermo, though it’s not like it’s hard to take it with any other thermometer. Simply press a button and hold it up to your head until you feel it gently vibrate, and you’ll see the temperature. You can assign it to a specific person by scrolling through names on the thermometer’s display, and if they’re in a healthy range, a green light will appear at the end of the thermometer.
Thermo works over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, so if you’re checking someone’s temperature in the middle of the night, you won’t need your phone in hand. The company said Thermo will be available in March for $100.
