Pinterest is already home to our lifestyle obsessions and inspirations, and sometimes those dream outfits or cooking tools are a little out of our price range, but we pin them anyway just in case.
Now, Pinterest will give you an extra nudge to purchase things off a Buyable Pin—if you’ve pinned a Buyable Pin to a board and the price drops, Pinterest will notify you. You’ll receive an email with the price difference and be prompted to check it out on Pinterest.
Pinterest launched Buyable Pins for mobile users earlier this year. A blue button on these shoppable pins indicates you can purchase the item right through Pinterest.
Already 87 percent of active users are on Pinterest to help them figure out what to buy, according to the company. And now with price drop alerts for your favorite items, the bookmarking tool will help you snag the best deals on items you’re already looking for.
You can check out pins with lowered prices in on Pinterest’s sale board. The Buyable Pin update is available to pinners on iOS and Android.
