To quote Donald Trump, it’s been an interesting 24 hours. The Republican nominee has been disavowed and unendorsed by some of his most prominent supporters and fellow politicians.
The GOP’s breaking point? Lewd, offensive comments unearthed by the Washington Post from a 2005 Access Hollywood appearance—all abhorrent moments of comedic gold for Saturday Night Live, which hit airwaves less than 12 hours after Trump was making his midnight apology.
Alec Baldwin reprised his role as the Donald for the show’s cold open, which also touched on the VP debate and Hillary Clinton‘s response to Trump claiming he can sexually assault women just because he’s famous.

“Well, looks like Donald Trump finally got what he wanted: a working microphone,” Cecily Strong said, portraying CNN’s Brooke Baldwin and interviewing a real Baldwin while he struggled as Trump to utter the word “apologize.”
Kate McKinnon’s Clinton, understandably, was celebrating. Looks like Trump and the Democratic nominee both got what they wanted.
