Man films pickpocket stealing his cell phone while using a selfie stick

It was a perfect crime: Until the selfie stick messed everything up.

Musician Diego Miño reportedly got his cell phone swiped by a pickpocket while walking through the crowds at the Pope’s massive mass in Quito, Ecuador. While carousing through all the people, he was also filming himself using a selfie stick and GoPro camera—and caught on tape the man who allegedly took his phone.

The culprit, who’s wearing jeans, a gray shirt, and black jacket, can be seen tracking Miño. Keep an eye out for him in the video:

The selfie stick may not have helped in warding off the pickpocket, but at least it got the devious act on film.
