There’s nothing particularly special about proposing at a baseball game. Maybe you end up on the Jumbotron or pull some strings to get onto the field, but it’s usually as standard as the seventh-inning stretch.
Of course, the dude usually doesn’t lose the ring.

Andrew Fox dropped his engagement ring during the Yankees-Red Sox game last night. With the whole stadium holding its collective breath, he got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend, Heather Terwilliger—only to pull out an empty Kay Jewelers box. In short order, practically everyone in the left-field stands was frantically helping look for the ring.
You really have to feel for the guy. Proposing is nerve-wracking enough. You get all wobbly in the knees and forget half the lines you said 30 times in the mirror. The look on his face about 35 seconds in says it all.
“I literally started crying because I thought it was lost,” the 29-year-old told ESPN. “It happened so fast.”
It took the longest 5 minutes of Fox’s life for the ring to be found—in one of the last places you’d think to look, of course—but when he finally sealed the deal, the crowd erupted like the Yankees just hit a grand slam.
