Samsung has already admitted that the Galaxy Note 7 is a huge safety concern, and now the company is getting a bit impatient with customers who are still using the smartphone anyway. To remind users just how dangerous the recalled device is, the company is now sending alerts to all Galaxy Note 7 users whenever they turn on or charge the device.

Countless fires and explosions have been blamed on the device, and damage costs are starting to seriously pile up. Cars, hotel rooms, entire homes, and even children have allegedly fallen victim to the faulty battery in the Note 7, and Samsung’s share of the bill is getting steeper by the day.
A new, less fiery version of the Note 7 is already available in many stores and carrier hubs, and Samsung is rolling out a software update that makes the battery indicator green (rather than the default gray) on phones that are safe to use.
If Samsung can’t convince virtually all Galaxy Note 7 owners to return or exchange their dangerous devices, the next logical step would be to remotely brick the phones completely, forcing their return.
