As much “courage” as Apple believes it’s decision to remove the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 may have taken, most think it’s just annoying. Luckily, clever redditor is already working on a case that will reinstate the headphone jack.

The user, who goes by DungJohnson (because of course he does), shared images of a prototype case that he and his brother designed. According to the post, the case is built with two Lightning ports and a 3.5mm audio input jack for headphones.

The brothers cobbled together their creationg with a “heavily modified electronics” taken from an iPhone 6 battery case. The tweaked internals have been fitted for a slim case that adds a bit of length to the device in order to restore the headphone jack.

The pair have been testing the case on an iPhone 6s.

While it’s unclear exactly if the case will work as intended on the latest Apple handset since it isn’t available yet, the creator told the Daily Dot, “so far, appears that audio input and lightning will work as intended on the [iPhone] 7.”

They have already set up a website for the case, which they call the Daptr, and have priced it at $49. The site claims the product is expected to be available in December 2016, though the case maker told us they are currently “considering a Kickstarter,” and “depending on how that goes, expanding into direct selling, etc.”
