On Saturday night, Americans all over the nation were out celebrating LGBT pride month at events in various cities.
This morning, we woke up to the most horrible thing imaginable: the worst mass shooting in U.S. history had taken place at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, taking the lives of at least 50 victims and injuring dozens.
As the nation reels from the latest in a seemingly never-ending series of horrific mass killings, the LGBT community is stunned by the realization that we are still targets despite recent civic and legal gains. Many are looking for a place to gather, mourn, and speak out.
The following list of vigils, rallies, and other events was compiled using social media, news reports, and the new website #WeAreOrlando (which has an up-to-date, comprehensive list that you can follow in the days to come). Please keep in mind that some of this information may change.
