Remember when we all joked about moving to Canada (or basically any other country) if Donald Trump became president, only to slowly see that idea become increasingly possible right in front of our eyes?
Well, if Trump actually wins in November, those of us who move to the Great White North can also find love in the process, thanks to a website called Maple Match.
The dating service wants to “make dating great again” and “make it easy for Americans to find the ideal Canadian partner to save them from the unfathomable horror of a Trump presidency.” It launched earlier this year, but only last week did it receive a flood of attention, after Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich ended their presidential campaigns, making Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee.
“We have seen immense traffic on our site over the last few days, and signups have surpassed our expectations,” Maple Match CEO Joe Goldman told Global News. “At this time, we are currently wait listing users and will begin matching as soon as we are able.”
As you can see, plenty of people have already signed up for the service.
