Game of Thrones fans have looked everywhere online from Internet forums to on-set photos, hair analysis, and frames of footage to answer the biggest question looming over season 6, but now they’re looking to their phones for the answer.
“Jon Snow is dead,” according to the official stance from HBO—unchanged since the season finale last year, even amid growing evidence to the contrary—but it’s not a very satisfying answer for fans. They just want to know, is Jon truly dead? They know they won’t get an answer before the April 24 season premiere (and maybe not even then).
Maybe Siri, whose responses range from silly to irresponsible, might have the answer.
Actress Kerry Washington was among the first to discover that if you asked Siri about Jon Snow (which comes up as the misspelled “John snow”), she had a fascinating answer that reminded you about Jon’s ever-loyal and protective direwolf, Ghost.

Poor puppy. But he’s gearing up for a battle with Ser Davos Seaworth against the men who killed his human, so for now we think he’ll be alright long enough to possibly get revenge.
Once fans stumbled upon Siri’s answer, they discovered that Siri has a wealth of responses when you asked her about Jon Snow that reference the words of House Greyjoy, Syrio Forel’s famous words to Arya Stark, and a rebooting joke. Hey, Siri’s got a sense of humor—especially if it turns into an accurate one.
She also has some good answers when you ask her if winter is coming, the famous words of House Stark. In the show that’s a resounding yes, but here it’s a little less apparent.
But what happens when you postulate about whether Melisandre, which Siri spelled out as “Mills sondra,” will resurrect Jon?
