It’s the Legend of Zelda’s 30th anniversary in 2016, and two fans are celebrating by remaking the first game in glorious voxel fashion.
The two, who go by Scott and Mike, have remade the game entirely inside WebGL, a Web-based JavaScript API that can render entirely inside a browser. Meaning that right now, you can play this 3D-voxel version of Zelda with any computer and keyboard.
The game also renders on mobile browsers as well. There’s also the ability to save the game—you don’t have to play through all in one sitting.
The Zelda30Tribute isn’t complete, but fans can keep up by following its Facebook page. That is, unless Nintendo shuts it down.
Correction: The original Zelda allowed for saving gameplay.
