The California Highway Patrol successfully detained a tiny chihuahua who led them on a dog-speed chase over San Francisco’s Bay Bridge early Sunday morning, but not before the fugitive pup won our hearts.

What was this pint-sized pooch wanted for? Not giving a fuck, apparently.

After the chihuahua was safely in custody—one officer “distracted” him with a jacket while another scooped him up—the CHP set about trying to find the owner. Judging by the fearsome skull tag on his collar, we’re guessing it’s someone with a sense of humor.

At least one Facebook commenter thinks the chihuahua, named Ponch for now by San Francisco County’s Department of Animal Care and Control, may have come all the way west from Colorado after surviving a car wreck—which would make him even more badass than we first assumed.

If Ponch isn’t claimed in a week, he’ll go up for adoption, though he should have no trouble finding a new home. What’s not to love about a pet who shares your basic distrust of law enforcement?
