As sports fans, you’re supposed to know that you should never rush the field in celebration until the game is actually over. It’s a lesson we learned in 1982 when Cal’s last-second touchdown return occurred with the Stanford band on the field, but somehow, it never sinks for a jubilant fanbase that just wants to celebrate.
The latest victims: the fans of the Lynn English High football team, which rushed the field in delirium Thursday with three seconds to play after its opponent, Lynn Classical High, fumbled a kickoff to ensure the English victory. Unfortunately for English fans, their team had been penalized for offside on the kickoff, and the play had to be run again.
That’s when Classical did this.
