Everyone is mad at this Florida man who voted for Paris Hilton

He didn’t want to vote for someone old. He wanted someone young and fresh.

Disillusioned Democrats still reeling from the shock of Donald Trump are reaching out to someone to blame, and they’ve found an easy target: a young man who posted a photo of his Florida ballot with socialite Paris Hilton written in for president. Hours later, he was lamenting Trump’s victory.

People are understandably excoriating him for throwing away his vote in one of the few states where it would have counted. The consensus seems to be that he’s a real headass:

Acidhunk didn’t respond to a request for comment, but he did post a tweet claiming his earlier ballot photo wasn’t real. That tweet is now deleted, though, and it’s been replaced with this sarcastic YouTube video laying out his argument for President Paris Hilton:

The video is clearly intended as satire (although it’s not clear what he’s satirizing. Harambe voters?) The whole stunt seems like a sad attempt to go viral. Congratulations, it succeeded, but none of the attention is positive. If he really voted for the hotel heiress, his joke is completely invalidated. And if he didn’t, emotions are raw in America right now, and he picked a bad time for shabby trolling.
