They’re bringing back DuckTales, that classic late-’80s children’s cartoon with everyone’s favorite villain Scrooge McDuck. Unlike, say, the nostalgic Full House reboot, this is a million-dollar idea because kids respond to affable and talking ducks.
The cast is great, too! Littered with comedy studs, it’s a who’s who of “Oh damn, I saw them in that thing.” To get familiar with your new voice actors, they sang us the classic theme song.
David Tennant, a real-life Scotsman, will play Scrooge McDuck. Danny Pudi (Community), Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation), and Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live) are his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Beck Bennett (SNL) is Launchpad; Toks Olagundoye (Castle, The Neighbors) plays Mrs. Beakley; and internet hero Kate Micucci (Garfunkel and Oates) will be Webby Vanderquack.
The series will premiere on Disney XD next year.
