Lines may have been long at your polling place, and vigilante citizens may have taken it upon themselves to “monitor” for “voter fraud,” but at least you weren’t in labor. And if you were, please let us know so we can start a list of badasses.
Sosha Adelstein of Boulder, Colorado, went into labor on Friday, but was worried she was going to miss her chance to vote. So on her way to the hospital, in the middle of labor, she and her husband dropped their ballots off at their local polling place.
“We always encourage voting by any means and certainly encourage your ballot in as soon as possible,” Boulder County spokeswoman Mircalla Wozniak told the Daily Camera. “This is a great reason to vote early if you are in labor.”
The move earned Adelstein a nod from Chelsea Clinton.
So touched to learn of this mom who stopped to vote for my mom while in labor & on her way to the hospital! https://t.co/06lw89WcBG

And apparently, Adelstein isn’t the only woman who had to deal with labor pains while voting.
Poll worker in Land O’Lakes said during early voting they rushed a women in labor thru line. “I have to vote,” he said she said #tbtvotes

There are many reasons why people may not be able to vote this year. They may not get off work, their polling place may be inaccessible, or voter ID laws may make it impossible for them to exercise their right. But it’s pretty cool seeing a bunch of women head to the polls when they would have a very good excuse not to.
