Danny Boyle’s 1996 film Trainspotting was a film that felt very much like 1996, from the cast to the plot to the wonderful soundtrack. What would it look like in 2016?

It’s undoubtedly something on the gang’s mind. The first question Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller) asks Renton (Ewen McGregor) in the trailer for T2: Trainspotting: “What have you been up to for 20 years?”

Renton’s famous “Choose Life” speech now includes references to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. And there will likely be another ill-advised heist, because Spud and Begbie are also back.

The film debuts in Jan. 27. in the U.K. and Feb. 3 in the States.
