It’s the question that plagues moms and grandmoms around the world: “What’s for dinner?” And with Thanksgiving right around the corner, the question has taken on near-existential importance.
Well, it turns out legendary gospel singer Shirley Caesar answered this question years ago in the most incredible way possible, and now the internet and Chris Brown have clued us in.
The clip caught on like wildfire and was quickly subjected to the inevitable remixes.

By the way, if you feel like “dog” is kind of out place on a list of Thankgiving dishes, it might make you feel better to know that the clip is taken out of context. Ceasar was originally listing off things that were found on a farm.
It’s worth checking out the original performance, in all it’s nine minutes of James Brown-esque glory. Ceasar’s amazing voice and heartfelt delivery are enough to convert the staunches of atheists… at least for the duration of the song.
