Russell Brand calls reporter ‘snide’ for asking how much his house cost

We bet the interviewer didn’t expect it to go like this.

Russel Brand’s wannabe revolution is marching onward unabated. This time he’s trying to help out a group of London tenants facing eviction due to gentrification. Things turned ugly, however, when a Channel 4 reporter had the temerity to ask the actor-turned-spiritual-guru how much he paid for his own home.

Brand didn’t take it well.

“I’m not here to talk about my rent, mate,” Brand told the interviewer, as the two began to talk over each other angrily, before being interrupted by a tenant. Brand finished with a British jibe, calling the journalist “a snide.”

As social media commentators have pointed out, Brand may have claimed that he’s not the story, but there are legitimate questions to be asked about multi-millionaires’ houses and their contributions to city gentrification.

If Russell Brand is “part of the solution,” one might be forgiven for preferring to stick with the problem.
