The White House is looking to counter criticism of the Obama administration’s controversial nuclear deal with Iran, and they’re using a new Twitter account to do it.
Today, the White House launched @TheIranDeal on Tuesday in an effort to “combat myths and misinformation circulating about the Iran Deal,” a White House spokesperson told the Daily Dot.
The Twitter account is one half of a two-part “online response” being launched by the White House in regards to the deal. Part two is an online hub that will feature “infographics, video, and factsheets to help members of Congress and the American public understand not only what’s in the deal, but what Iran’s nuclear program would look like without it,” according to the White House.

The White House says the account will host “engagement events” that will feature negotiators of the deal using the Twitter account to take questions.
Judging by the first few tweets from the account, @TheIranDeal will be used to bolster the White House view that the deal has blocked Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, an analysis countered by Republicans in Congress.
