If you’re looking for Pinterest’s largest activity hubs all in one place, look no further than the Pinterest Group Boards Directory, a new profile dedicated to keeping track.
The resource hosts more than 200 group boards, each with hundreds—sometimes hundreds of thousands—of pins, and many active users. Founded by Step Input, a digital agency in Sydney, Australia, the board’s original purpose was to help clients analyze their Pinterest strategies.
“We track about 500 ‘serious’ Group Boards on a Google Apps spreadsheet, but then figured it was just as easy to get ourselves invited to all the major group boards and show them off ‘live,’” a spokesperson told us. “It’s a great resource for anyone new to Pinterest looking for high-volume boards to follow.”
If Pinterest does monitor its most prolific group boards, it does not release this data to the public. The platform’s internal search allows users to search by keyword only, and divides results into pins, boards, and people, making this group search function unique.
Here are 5 of the directory’s most enormous group boards:
1) *****Shared Music***** — 16,693 pins
Got a song stuck in your head? Share it with the world by posting the YouTube music video to this board. Users aren’t limited to audio visual either; they pin anything that is related to music.
2) Pinterest Your Heart Out — 19,218 pins
Sometimes the simplest prompt can inspire thousands of pins. On this board, pinners add photos of hearts, heart-shaped items, or images that make their hearts swell.
3) Just Desserts — 22,762 pins
Never underestimate the power of sweets to bring people together. On this board, more than 2,000 members pin their favorite after-dinner treats.
4) Cats, Cats, Cats — 26,908 pins
Pinterest isn’t immune to the Internet’s kitty love affair. Check this board for nothing but cute, funny, and crazy cat photos, all the time.
5) Photography (No Nudity) — 142,740 pins
With this many pins, the “infinite scrolling” feature might seem like more than hyperbole. Nudity might be off limits, but anything else goes from landscapes, to fashion, to food.
