Putting one small child to bed is bad enough. Putting two to bed, if you take it from Henriette Jonassen, is the stuff of nightmares.
She’s a mother of twins in Norway, and while most of the time she was able to get them to sleep without much difficulty, that changed. With it not getting dark until at least 10 o’clock during summer nights, trying to get her boys to bed hasn’t been easy.
“Normally, I would put them to bed, sing a few songs while tickling their backs and close the door behind me,” she wrote. “That worked out great. But that changed.”
Most of the time the boys shared a bedroom, but she decided to experiment a little after taking some suggestions from friends. She then filmed a time-lapse of what bedtime now looked like because she was certain that it wouldn’t work. And she’s not disappointed.
Jonassen said she’ll go back to the twins’ usual bedtime routine after it gets darker, where it hopefully will only take a handful of tries to get them to go to bed.
