Elephants are famously emotional creatures, befriending other animals and quickly bonding with their own kind. In this heartwarming video, a herd of adult elephants reaches out to protect a calf that got into trouble on the road.

The elephant calf collapsed on the road, bringing traffic to a standstill, and within seconds, several larger elephants converged around their young friend to shield it from cars, eventually helping it to its feet.
