Supergirl premiered on CBS last night, a breath of fresh air in a genre full of brooding male heroes.
Actress Melissa Benoist joined Stephen Colbert to discuss the show and its feminist message, which Benoist describes as “for everyone.” There’s probably some concern that the feminist label will deter some potential viewers, but Benoist and Colbert make it very clear that Supergirl can be feminist and a mainstream hit at the same time.
Well, duh.
By the way, here’s that photo of Melissa Benoist hanging out with some mini-Supergirls. You know, just in case you need your heart warmed any further.
