Tempo Storm is getting back into Counter-Strike

After six months without a roster, Tempo Storm will be competing in Counter-Strike again.

The organization has signed Brazilian side Games Academy, re-entering Counter-Strike for the first time since releasing their previous squad in August.

Games Academy will compete in the MLG Columbus Major after winning the last chance qualifier against Optic Gaming, Splyce and NRG. The team also took victory in the CEVO North American Main Division league in November.

Games Academy was formed by current Luminosity Gaming AWPer Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo. Some of the team’s players, like Tacio “Taco” Pessoa, have gone on to join top Brazilian sides like Luminosity and Kabum Esports.

All five of the current players, as well as coach Luiz “peacemaker” Tadeu, will be transferring to the new banner.

In March, Tempo Storm acquired North American side Ascendancy, but failed to make any real progress. After falling short in the IEM Cologne qualifiers, the team was released in August and Tempo Storm concentrated on other games.

The Counter-Strike team joins Tempo Storm’s growing roster, which now includes seven different esports.
